My mentor. Rashid Nuri, teaches to always make the farm beautiful by treating each field like a canvas. As the first frosts descend to sweeten our greens and shorten our days, I gleaned IG to see the beauties our local farmers still make.  With only a few markets left to peruse the artistic bounty of their stands (and warm them with our kindness and dollars in the bluster of winter), below is some visual encouragement to go and grab a palette of radishes or carrots to brighten your table.

RENEWAL

Everyday walking / all day sometimes / under trees to crumble leaves

thinking about / the road less travelled /  a warning /  an encouragement

What if / less travelled / is less travelled for a reason

young I was a tree /  roots strengthened by buttressing winds / until I bent to cracking

Letting go /  a leaf / left to the wind / unaware of our direction

But now / I'm content to lie down / and wait for spring / broken down home for a future bloom
