Being [mary tabor]

Albert Einstein wrote, “We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance for hopes, we dance for screams, we are the dancers, we create the dreams.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself, as a dancer we have a different type of therapy than most, we don’t need expensive counselors or medication. We need a room to ourselves with nothing but music playing in the background. Dance isn’t just a hobby, it’s another way we live, survive, and explain ourselves. Watching someone break down on the dance floor is like watching a two hour movie in three minutes. You see the start, the climax, the release, the end. Sometimes we cry, sometimes we scream, laugh, mess up or even create something new. We can’t always explain what’s going on in our life, that’s when we turn to dance. The moment your feet hit the floor and the music takes over your body, you feel like you’re home. You feel comfort, you feel stable but you also feel nothing. And then also everything. Words can be complicated sometimes, I rather just dance it out.
